New Development From Advent 2008, 'Anam Cara' is delighted to be linked to 'Begin with the Heart', a project created by Fr Daniel O'Leary to offer personal and professional nourishment to all involved in religious education and catechesis. It calls for a dynamic theology and a vital spirituality in all aspects of our educational endeavours.   At a time of many distractions for church leaders, lay teachers and parish catechists are often left to fend for themselves. Working within the treasures of the Catholic tradition, this book hopes to offer some nourishment and inspiration both personally and professionally. This is what On the Threshold, an earlier report of the Bishops' Conference of England and Wales, set out to do so powerfully in 2000.   Begin with the Heart introduces a radical dimension to the work of catechesis and religious education. Daniel O'Leary, internationally known, is a priest, author and teacher in the Diocese of Leeds. As curate and Parish Priest, he has worked in parishes for almost 30 years. He taught theology and religious education in St Mary's University College in London and became Chair of its Religious Studies Department before being appointed Episcopal Vicar for Christian Formation in Leeds. He holds Masters degrees in theology, spirituality and religious education. Award-winning auhtor of 12 books, he is a regular contributor to The Tablet and The Furrow.
